Who can you expect to see here?

The members of the Northside church of Christ are plain, ordinary, everyday people. Some are school teachers, factory workers, secretaries, accountants, or bankers. Some of us work in the medical field as doctors, nurses, or staff. Others among us are involved in insurance or real estate. Others are homemakers. Some are self-employed. Some of us are in elementary school, high school, or college. Some of us are retired and some of us are just beginning our careers. Some of us have been married for over sixty years and some of us are just beginning our lives together. Some of us have grown families while some have very young families. We are a plain, ordinary, everyday group of people encouraging one another on toward the goal of an eternal home in Heaven with God (Philippians 3:12-14, 2 Timothy 4:7-8, John 14:1-4). Most importantly, the Christians here are God’s family and we want to help each other get to Heaven. We lean on each other as we all lean on the Lord. We are not perfect by any means, but we are trying to grow spiritually and be more of what God wants us to be.

Our Worship

Our worship of God is not designed to be flashy, nor is it designed to be entertaining. Rather, it is our goal to present to the Lord a reverent and dignified offering of the heart in accordance with biblical guidelines.

Our View of the Bible

We accept the Bible as the inspired, infallible word of God, written by men whom God chose, and preserved for man through the centuries (Matthew 24:35, 2 Timothy 3:16-17). We do not believe that the Bible is outdated and irrelevant to the lifestyles and needs of men in the 21st century. The Bible contains divine commands, examples, and timeless truths that will guide any man or woman from earth to Heaven. Because we believe this to be true, we do not hold to any creed written by men, nor do we answer to any governing authority outside of the local congregation here.

Our Organization

The Northside church of Christ is committed to following the pattern as outlined in the New Testament for the organization of a local church including elders, deacons, an evangelist and saints. All of us together make up the local body of Christ, the church.

Our Offer to You

The Northside church of Christ exists to serve the Lord, each other, and the spiritual needs of all those who are searching for answers to the questions that really matter: “Who am I?” “Why am I here?” “What does God expect of me?” “What will happen after I die?” “How can I get to Heaven?” To that end, we offer Bible based teaching in sermons and in our classes. In addition to adult classes, we offer children’s classes from age six months and up. A strong church leadership is in place. We don’t pretend to have every answer for every troubling and difficult thing that happens to us. We simply walk by faith and believe the Bible is our only guide from earth to Heaven. We want to talk to you, study with you from the Bible, or assist you in any way as you seek to learn more about God and bring your life into harmony with His will.
